About terrAurea

Architecture rooted in nature, shaped by material, climate and craft.

terrAurea is an architecture and construction studio founded by Italian architect Giovanni Presti and based in Mexico. The studio specializes in bamboo, timber, tropical architecture and parametric design, developing projects in close dialogue with landscape, climate and local building knowledge.

From the first concept to materialization, terrAurea combines architectural design, digital processes, structural collaboration and on-site experience to create spaces that are expressive, functional and deeply rooted in their territory.

Giovanni Presti

Founder · Architect · Project Lead

Giovanni Presti is an Italian architect trained at the Politecnico di Torino, with professional and academic experience across Italy, Brazil, Panama, Colombia and Mexico.

His work explores the relationship between architecture, structure and natural materials, with a particular focus on bamboo, timber, bioclimatic design and parametric processes. His approach combines conceptual research, digital modeling, technical development and direct experience in construction.

Since founding terrAurea, he has led residential, hospitality, cultural and experimental projects, seeking an architecture that responds sensitively to its territory while remaining technically rigorous and contemporary.

His recent work includes Villa CORA in Tulum, a contemporary bamboo residence published internationally by ArchDaily.
